Flutter Honors Tech4Good Innovators with Awards

(AsiaGameHub) – The winning startups will be backed by the Alpha Hub startup programme operated by the gaming company.
UK.- Flutter Entertainment has revealed the winning companies of its most recent Tech4Good Awards. The project, a collaboration between the gambling operator’s Alpha Hub startup programme and its community-oriented partner Beyond Sport, has awarded prizes to two technology startups. This effort seeks to underscore its social contributions amidst a UK legislative push for stricter gambling advertising rules.
The top award in this round was given to GoodGym, an initiative that motivates runners, walkers, and cyclists to perform community tasks during their workouts. Established in 2009, the startup now operates in 68 UK regions and is recognised for its AI-driven tool called Coach, which assists users in finding local activities and building stronger community connections.
Finishing in second place is Civic Dollars, an organisation based in Belfast that created a geo-fencing community currency app designed to incentivise outdoor activity. Participants accumulate “Civic Dollars” for each 30 minutes they spend in public areas, which can be exchanged for wellness classes or contributed to local charitable causes.
The Tech4Good Awards are supported by a combined fund of £60,000 and provide customised assistance from both Alpha Hub and Beyond Sport.
Adam Burgess, Director of Programmes at Beyond Sport, commented: “By combining funding with tailored capability building support, these awards help organisations use technology to scale solutions that increase physical activity and deliver lasting health and community outcomes.”
Flutter established Alpha Hub in 2018 to link new companies with its brands, such as FanDuel in the US, and Sky Bet and Paddy Power in the UK and Ireland. Its partnerships have covered areas including safer gambling, product development aimed at women, and, more recently, horse racing technology via the Future of Racing Summit held with the British Horseracing Authority (BHA).
