In April, Mississippi sports betting handle experiences a decline

U.S.- The Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC) has published its April sports wagering report. The handle was $18.8m, down 24.5 per cent year-over-year.
The regulatory agency breaks down wagering revenue across Central, Coastal, and Northern regions. The Coastal region generated $11.9m in bets, representing more than 60 per cent of the handle. The Central region generated $4.5m and the Northern region $2.4m. Taxable revenue in the state was $2.9m.
In the Coastal region, taxable revenue was $1.5m. Basketball generated a $3.5m handle and $339,442 in taxable revenue, baseball generated $3m handle and $180,072, and parlay cards saw $2m in handle and $496,300 in taxable revenue.
The Central region reported $951,270 in taxable revenue. Parlay cards generated a $1.9m handle and $702,275 in taxable revenue, basketball generated $1.7m handle and $143,983, and baseball generated $737,926 in handle and $81,101 in taxable revenue.
Taxable revenue in the Northern region was $358,808. Basketball generated a $989,968 handle and $52,816 in taxable revenue, while parlay cards generated $856,049 in handle and $279,515 in taxable revenue, and basketball generated $318,069 in handle and $11,257 in taxable revenue.
Casinos generated $196m in adjusted gross gaming revenue. This marks a 0.3 per cent year-on-year increase but a decrease of 8.5 per cent from March 2026.
